Off-Ice Presenters: Sylvie DaCaen (TRR Lead Harness Technician), Dr. Judy Goss (Sports Psychologist) Reaghan Fortin (ISU Level Official), Cody Hay (Former Olympian) and a Skate Canada Representative (TBC).

Date/Time: Saturday, June 1st. All day, full afternoon into evening.

Groupings:
Groupings and a detailed schedule will be sent out via email after registration closes and provided to you when you check-in at the Registration Desk.

    We are using multiple Ice Pads in RIM Park

    The Rotation Room is located in the Carolyn Fedy Skating Centre.
  • The Dance Studio  
    The Dance Studio is located in the Carolyn Fedy Skating Centre.
  • Multipurpose Room  
    Meeting room 1 is located in the Carolyn Fedy Skating Centre
  • Library                    
    The library is located at the far end of the building. There will be signs posted at registration to help guide you.

Not included, coaches and skaters are requested to bring packed lunch and water bottles

Joey Russell, International Coach and Choreographer 
Joey Russell has created a rich 30-year career in figure skating, originating from Newfoundland and Labrador but traversing Canada for training and opportunities. Notable milestones include: Junior Canadian Champion, Senior Canadian Bronze Medalist, and Canadian National and World Championship Team Member.

Transitioning from competitive skating, Joey embarked on a three-year tour as a show skater.

Currently based in Toronto, Joey has transitioned into choreography, lending his expertise to skaters of all levels. He has worked with many notable skaters, including Evgenia Medvedeva, Boyang Jin, Jun Hwan Cha, Haein Lee, Elizabet Tursynbayeva, and Canadian Champion Wesley Chiu, and other international competitors.

Keegan Murphy, Coach of Current Canadian Champion Wesley Chiu
Keegan Murphy, a former Canadian National medalist and international competitor turned coach, boasts 15 years of experience producing provincial and national champions. He has guided his athletes to success on the international stage, with appearances at prestigious events like the Junior Grand Prix Circuit and ISU Championships.

Through his leadership as Director of Skating Programs at the Connaught Skating Club, Keegan has built a robust skating developmental system and fostered a supportive skating community in Richmond, BC. His coaching philosophy prioritizes life skills, aiming to equip athletes with experience, confidence, and composure for success beyond their competitive careers.

Sylvie DeCaen, TRR Lead Harness Technician
Sylvie is an accomplished Athletics Manager and Lead Harness Technician with a wealth of experience and expertise. Holding a B.A.PHED from Brock University and a B.A.ED from the University of Quebec, Sylvie is highly educated in her field. With a Level 5 (National) NCCP coaching certification, she demonstrates her commitment to excellence in coaching. With over 25 years of experience coaching athletes from beginner to international levels, Sylvie brings a deep understanding of athletic development and a passion for helping individuals reach their full potential. Her dedication and leadership make her a valuable asset in the world of athletics.

Dr. Judy Goss, Certified Mental Performance Consultant®
Judy Goss, PhD is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant®, who works with National and Olympic/Paralympic Team members including athletes from Skate Canada, Wrestling Canada, Athletics Canada, Swim Ontario, Skate Ontario and Ontario Cycling.  Judy received her PhD in Sport Psychology from the University of Maryland. She has served as the Mental Performance Lead for the National Sport Science and Sport Medicine Advisory Committee for Own the Podium and was the Mental Performance Lead at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario for almost 2 decades.

Judy maintains a private practice working with athletes and coaches from a wide variety of sports as well as National and Provincial Sport Organizations. She has written numerous articles and presented at national and international conferences. Her work with athletes and coaches focuses on performance enhancement, performance under pressure and building resiliency. She takes an educational approach so that athletes and coaches understand the theoretical concepts as well as developing the skills and strategies to integrate into their daily training and competitive experiences.

Reaghan Fortin, ISU-level official
Reaghan is an ISU-level official and one of Canada’s highest-ranking officials in singles and pairs. She is a fixture at Nationals and a regular on the senior international circuit, including officiating at the 2024 Grand Prix Final.
