Waterloo, ON - February 15, 2024 - The Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club (KWSC) is proud to announce the participation of its talented skaters in two competitions, alongside hosting send-off events to celebrate their achievements.
On February 21-25, 2024, KWSC's skaters will compete in the 2024 Novice Canadian Championships at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex in Waterloo, ON. Among the competitors are the following KWSC Novice Dance Teams: Lilla Horvat & Bryce Aggerholm and Mackenzie Lockston & Philip Czarnecki. Additionally, Anneka Frey, Ellina Yao, Katie Howey, and Christine Brown will represent KWSC in the Novice Synchro category with their respective teams.
Additionally, KWSC is pleased to announce that Junior Ice Dance Team, Alisa Korneva & Kieran MacDonald, will represent Canada at the most prestigious Junior skating event, the 2024 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Taipei City from February 26 to March 3, 2024. Alisa and Kieran recently won a bronze medal at the Skate Canada National Championships in Calgary and are coached by Carleigh MacDonald and Paul MacIntosh.
Ahead of these events, KWSC will host send-off events at the CFSC Rink in RIM Park on Friday, February 16th at 5:15pm (Novice Nationals) and Thursday, February 22nd at 6:15pm (World Jr.) to cheer on its athletes.
