Welcome to the Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club

LEARN TO SKATE AT KWSC!

The Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club holds a special place in the hearts of thousands of local families who for generations have entrusted us to teach their children to skate. We offer learn-to-skate, figure skating, and power skating programs for beginners through to elite athletes, and we are one of Canada's largest and most successful skating clubs.

Our Learn-to-Skate programs are designed to teach fundamental skating skills to people of all ages interested in ice sports such as hockey, ringette, and figure skating, as well as those wanting to skate for fitness and enjoyment.

What makes us different?

  • We are K-W's exclusive provider of the unrivaled CanSkate program--Canada's only nationally regulated learn-to-skate program
  • Our programs are taught by a team of Skate Canada trained and certified professional coaches with a demonstrated track record of outstanding success
  • We are K-W's only not-for-profit skating club
  • For over 75 years we have done one thing, and we have done it exceptionally well: teaching children and adults to skate!

POWER SKATING

Skating is the most fundamental skill required to play hockey or ringette. Our Twin City Hockey Skating School offers power skating programs throughout the year at various rinks in the Kitchener-Waterloo region.

For more information, visit our Twin City Hockey Skating School website.

FIGURE SKATING

The Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club is one of Canada's leading figure skating training centres. We offer singles, pairs, dance, and synchronized skating programs for beginners through to elite athletes. The introductory level for all figure skating programs is the STARSkate program, which typically begins after basic skating skills are mastered in the CanSkate program.

Skaters with the desire and abilities to participate in our competitive programs enjoy a world-class training facility with excellent professional coaches, a dedicated figure skating ice pad, an athletics centre, personal trainers, as well as dance and pilates studios.
