Every skater has a song that they love. A song that speaks to them...makes them happy...makes them feel...and makes them want to skate! Let us introduce you to the 2012 KWSC Showcase Performance of ICELIST! This year's show will explore the songs that make up a skater's playlist.

This non-stop show made up of amazing skating from our KWSC club members will be our best Showcase yet! This is one of those rare opportunities where the KWSC membership comes together to share and show what they love....SKATING!

Showcase 2012 will be held on Saturday, March 24th at the Waterloo Memorial Recreational Complex. Forparticipating skaters, a series of rehearsal sessions will lead up to the event.

Showcase is a volunteer-run skating event that involves all ages and disciplines of skating. For skaters, Showcase provides an opportunity to work with a Professional Artistic Director and gain the experience of participating in the creation of an ice show that helps celebrate the many successes of KWSC.

For parents and community volunteers, it provides a wonderful opportunity to share the joys of skating with our family, friends and community, while making a positive contribution and building new relationships.

In conjunction with this event, the Board of Directors of KWSC is pleased to announce that there will be no additional charge for skater participation in Showcase.

The success of Showcase requires parent, skater and community volunteer involvement. No previous experience is required. A wide variety of roles are available for your consideration including volunteer coordination, facilities/backstage crew, fundraising, dressing rooms attendants and support, souvenir program distribution, security and costuming.

Showcase 2012 Co-Chairs named - Volunteers and Skaters Required!

We are pleased to announce that Alison Smerchinski and Hilary Camilleri have signed on as Showcase Co-Chairs for our 2012 season wrap up event.

Alison has been involved with the club for 12 years as a parent of young skaters and as a volunteer. She currently has two daughters skating with the club. Eve - Senior STAR and Grace - Junior STAR. Alison is also Grand River Skating Council Vice Chair and our KWSC rep. Over the years, Alison has volunteered her time within the club from greeting new skaters to organizing local competitions.

Hilary has been involved with the club for 5 years. Currently both her daughters skate at KWSC. Claire - Comp Dev and Kate - Junior STAR. Hilary runs a successful children's photography business in Waterloo and volunteers her time taking photos for skating activities and the athletic centre.

Both Alison and Hilary are thrilled be to working with KWSC skaters, parents, coaches and volunteers for the 2012 Showcase. They are looking forward to providing a positive and memorable experience for skaters of all levels!!
