Junior STAR Program

The Junior STAR program is the entry level of the Skate Canada standardized testing system.  Instruction is taught through private lessons (fees extra) by a Skate Canada coach of your choice and this must be arranged before registering.  For contact information on our Skate Canada coaches, please contact Heidi Kendall, Membership Services Manager. 

Program requirement:  No Skate Canada tests are required.

Fitness requirement:  Skaters have the option to enroll in one or two fitness classes per week.  Please refer to the Fitness Registration Form for more information.

Intermediate STAR Program

Program requirement:  Skaters must have passed the complete Preliminary Freeskate test and either (a) the Junior Bronze Skills test or (b) the complete Junior Bronze Dance tests.

Fitness requirement:  Skaters are required to enroll in two fitness classes per week.

Senior STAR Program

Program requirement:  Skaters must have passed the Junior Bronze Freeskate test and either (a) the Senior Bronze Skills test or (b) the complete Senior Bronze Dance tests.

Fitness requirement:  Skaters are required to enroll in two fitness classes per week.

Skaters who have completed a Gold test have the option of purchasing A la Carte sessions and still be considered full time if skating three days per week.

Adult STAR Program

The Adult STAR program is available for adults who are ready to take private lessons and are interested in progressing in the areas of Skating Skills, Freeskate, Dance and/or Interpretive.  For contact information on our Skate Canada coaches, please contact Heidi Hendall, Member Services Manager.

There are no program or fitness requirements for the Adult STAR program and adults are not required to pay the non-resident fee.
