We are thrilled to announce that Anabelle Langlois-Hay will be the new Technical Director at KWSC. Anabelle will be stepping into this role as the wonderful Pat teBoekhorst is set to retire at the end of this summer.
Anabelle is a 2008 Canadian Champion in Pairs, a three-time National medalist and two-time Canadian Olympian, with her husband Cody Hay. Cody and Anabelle have coached pair teams to seven National medals from Pre-Novice to Junior, as well as three teams to Junior international events, one Junior World participation and two Senior internationals between 2012-2018.
After retiring from competitive skating, the couple then moved to Calgary where they started a pair program in hopes of helping grow the discipline of pair skating in Canada. They are married and busy parents to their children Mia & Zac. Anabelle is currently the Director of the Pair Program at Academie Performance Isatis.
Anabelle has also participated in The Battle of The Blades television series, and currently serves as a coach mentor for Skate Canada’s National Pair Initiative (NPI).
Anabelle is passionate about creating an environment where skaters can thrive and reach their full potential. This aligns with KWSC’s ‘skater-first’ philosophy. Anabelle’s international experience brings KWSC’s vision of being a world-class skating centre one more step closer to reality. Anabelle will be starting with KWSC in September and Pat will remain working part-time while Anabelle gets settled in.
Thanks to Pat, Laszlo and base coach Melinda for serving as part of the Hiring Committee.
The Club is excited to welcome Anabelle to her new role as Technical Director at KWSC!
