October Skater of the Month – Nicole & Aiden
Aiden began skating at KWSC seven years ago after his coach, Paul MacIntosh, invited him to the dance program. He immediately fell in love with dance and has since competed at the Skate Canada Challenge two years in a row. He is optimistic to compete at challenge again this year to make it number three! Aiden is also hopeful to compete at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships for the first time this season.
Aside from Dance, Aiden also competes in Intermediate Synchro and looks towards a potential synchronized skating championship this year.
Outside of skating, he likes an array of sports such as baseball, basketball, volleyball and football. He lives on a dairy farm with his six dogs and four cats, and whenever he gets a chance, he especially likes to go four-wheeling and dirt biking. When he has some down time, Aiden enjoys reading and playing video games.
Nicole started ice dance in Oakville when she was just nine years old. This year she is competing in Novice Ice Dance and Pre Novice Singles. She has been to Provincials for dance three times, Challenge twice, as well as the Ontario Winter Games.
This year Nicole started grade nine in Oakville where she is a member of her high school’s cross-country team. When she was younger, Nicole used to play soccer, golf, tennis, swimming, dance and gymnastics.
October PA of the Month - Grace
Grace became a PA because she wanted to inspire young skaters the same way the PA’s and coaches who taught her did during her time as a Canskater.
Grace loves being greeted by all the smiling faces every time she steps on the ice; they truly light up her day!
Outside of skating, Grace enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, as well as playing the violin. Some fun facts about Grace: she is an avid fan of Love Island and she loves pickles. However, nothing is as much fun as skating and ultimately she has hopes to do her best this season!
