National Coaches Week is a weeklong public awareness campaign that encourages people in Canada to say thanks and celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and their communities. This week puts a spotlight on coaches and gives this integral part of Canadian sport a thanks! With events held across the province and country to celebrate coaching, National Coaches Week provides coaches with the recognition they deserve for the time they devote to ensuring people in Canada live an active, healthy lifestyle. Especially through the challenging times of the pandemic, coaches have had to adapt to protect themselves, their skaters and their families; all while supporting participants from a distance.
During National Coaches Week, I encourage you to say ‘thanks’ to the 40 coaches who are part of the KW Skating Club coaching team. Please take the time to add a note of gratitude to our #ThanksCoach display in the Carolyn Fedy Skating Rink at Manulife Sportsplex, or send a thank-you note to your coach directly. Take a picture of you and your coach, post it online and include #KWSCProud and #ThanksCoach.
Coaches are important role models in the lives of thousands of skaters at the KW Skating Club. This week, we celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes.
