COVID-19 Update - December 23, 2020

Dear Skating Families,

As many of you have already heard, as of midnight on Saturday, December 26th, the province will begin a 28-day province-wide shutdown in an attempt to disrupt the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.  As part of this shut-down, the province requires the “closure of all indoor and outdoor sports and recreational fitness facilities”.  Therefore, RIM Park will be closed.

As a result of the closures, the KWSC office, all KWSC skating programs and the Athletic Centre will be closed until at least January 23, 2021.  During this shutdown period, KWSC will be offering a few webinars with special guests so we can stay connected.

I know this shutdown will create financial hardship for many families, so please be reassured that your account with KWSC will be refunded for any sessions for which you may have registered on Dec. 29th and 30th.   You will receive this refund in the same method by which you paid. (For more information, see KWSC’s cancellation policy here).

As well, we will postpone the launch of registration for the Winter Skating season. We will keep you posted on our re-opening plans. Please stay in touch with our rink community by following our social media channels and checking our website where we will be posting updates.

Please enjoy the holidays with members of your household and don’t forget to count your blessings.

Debra Brown
Executive Director
