Meet Dianne Rouleau...

Dianne Rouleau photoWhat is your skating/teaching philosophy:
As a career figure skating coach I have enjoyed my 25+ years of fostering in my skaters a passion for the process of achieving their goals. I also believe it is extremely important to provide a strong technical foundation for each skater, and to develop specific lesson plans appropriate for each skater's level of development.

Tell us about your skating career:
I was a double gold medalist in Figures and Freeskate.

What are some of your other professional accomplishments?
I have coached skaters at the Novice/Junior/Senior Canadian Championships for 18 consecutive years. I have coached medal winners at Sectional, Challenge Skate, Canadian National Championships and also gold medal winner at the Gardenia Spring Trophy in Italy. I enjoy bringing out the best in all my skaters, whether they are at the beginner or elite level.

What are your coaching credentials?
Skate Canada NCCP Level 3; Skate Canada Mentor Coach for NCCP; have attended numerous Canadian and American seminars.

Are you currently taking new students and if so at what level?
I am currently accepting student at the Jr/Int STAR level, Jr. Comp and Sr. Comp., and CanSkate provided it does not conflict with my regular lesson schedule.

When you are not at the rink what are you doing?
I am golfing, reading, volunteering for National Service Dogs.

Who is/are your favourite skater(s)?
Janet Lynn and Ekatrina Gordeeva, and of course my own students.
