Meet Kim Biddiscombe...

Kim Biddiscombe photoWhat is your skating/teaching philosophy:
All skaters have the ability to be successful. I believe that each skater has individual needs. With the proper guidance, coaching and resources they can achieve their full potential.

Tell us about your skating career:
I was a competitive skater for 15 years in clubs all across the province as my family moved around a lot. I then spent 4 years as a judge in singles, dance and figures before becoming a coach.

What are some of your other professional accomplishments?
I have coached Pre-Novice Pairs, Senior Men and Senior Ladies at the National level.  I have had National medalists at the Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Novice and Junior levels. In 2004 was the Team Coach for the Ontario Winter Games for Western Ontario.  I have attended 4 International competitions as a coach. I was the Volunteer Coach for the ICG Winter Games in Switzerland and Kelowna, BC. I have directed and choreographed several ice shows including one in New Hamburg with Isabelle Brasseur and Lloyd Eisler which raised $35,000 for their new rink.

What are your coaching credentials?
I am a Level 3 certified professional coach with 24 years teaching experience.

Are you currently taking new students and if so at what level?
I teach students from junior STAR through to senior competitive, specializing in singles and am accepting new students at all levels.

When you are not at the rink what are you doing?
Reading, golfing, spending time with family at the cottage.

Who is/are your favourite skater(s)?
Erin Scherrer, from age 8 - Senior Ladies.
My favourite skaters to watch are: Brian Orser and Joannie Rochette
