What is your skating/teaching philosophy:
To connect with the spirit of every student; to bring out the best in each by inspiring self-motivation, creativity and optimal mental & physical growth in a positive environment!
Tell us about your skating career:
Junior World Pairs Silver & Bronze medalist; 9th in Senior World Pairs Championships, Copenhagen, Denmark;. National Novice Ladies Champion & Junior World Ladies competitor; numerous National medals; 5 - time National Team member; 1st St. Ivel Ice International, London, England; 3rd Moscow Skate, Moscow, USSR; skated in several ice shows across the country including Toller Cranston's T.V. special "Magic Skates".
What are some of your other professional accomplishments?
BA Psychology, University of Waterloo, highest honours in graduatiing class, 1999; Fashion Design, International Academy of Merchandising & Design, Toronto, 1989; coached athletes at the Canadian, European and Jr. World Championships; Danish Champion 1986; coached athletes from grass roots to Gold Test achievement; currently coach and choreograph programs for my own students as well as chorograph for other coaches in K-W and surrounding areas; have choreographed and produced numerous full-length skating shows over the years, and am honoured to be named the Artistic Director for the 2010 KWSC Star Skate "Stars on Ice" summer camp.
What are your coaching credentials?
Level 3 Certified professional coach; Former Technical Specialist for Skate Canada; Over 25 years of coaching experience in Europe and Canada; BA Psychology specializing in cognition and child development, quadruple Gold Test Certification in figures, free skate, pairs and dance.
Are you currently taking new students and if so at what level?
Accepting new students at all levels, including 5 years and younger.
When you are not at the rink what are you doing?
Health & fitness (good food, good reading and exercise), live music & visual arts, lots of outdoor activities and spending time with my family and friends!
